#SIKAPPINOY

#SikapPinoy is a passion project aligned with the overarching vision of The Astoria Group’s CEO, Mr. Jeffrey T. Ng, and COO, Mrs. Vivian S. Ng, to always keep the best interests of the local community in mind in all things that we develop.

HOW IT ALL STARTED

While the big idea is to celebrate the unwavering spirit and resiliency of Pinoys, the specific aim of Sikap Pinoy project is to provide quality, practical, financial and life education to the communities that The Astoria Group interacts with and actively supports.

BORACAY, AKLAN (2019)

With over 230 participants from all 3 barangays of Boracay, namely Balabag, Manoc-Manoc, and Yapak, the Boracay Sikap Pinoy 2019 event was a rousing success! Invitees came from all walks of life, with local government employees, tattoo artists, hair braiders, and fisherfolk all mingling together to learn more life skills.

GIVE A NEW LIFE: A Donation Drive

At Astoria Current, creating memorable experiences goes beyond merely welcoming guests. It also involves making a meaningful difference in the communities we call home.

As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, Astoria Current has partnered with the Malay Ati Tribal Association (MATA) and the Office of the Sangguniang Bayan of Malay to deliver essential donations to the indigenous communities of Sitio Soong Cogon, Sitio Carla, Cubay Sur, and Tabon Baybay in Caticlan, Mainland Malay, Aklan.

Through our outreach program, we provided over 1,500 pairs of resort slippers from our resort, along with student uniforms, shoes, and clothing generously donated by graduates of the ASTORIA Culinary and Hospitality Institute (Astoria-ACHI). Additionally, we donated approximately 1,000 retired linens, including bed sheets and pillowcases.

Astoria Current reinforces its commitment to responsible resource management and environmental sustainability while helping families access useful everyday essentials. This initiative reflects our belief that hospitality extends beyond our resort—creating opportunities to uplift lives, strengthen communities, and care for the environment through thoughtful and purposeful action.

Through meaningful collaborations with local organizations and community leaders, Astoria Current remains dedicated to fostering positive change and building a brighter future for the communities we proudly serve.
